Thoughts on Heaven (smell, taste, sight)

I was thinking about the Tree of Life one day and realized that because we are told that it has 12 different kinds of fruit, one each month, that maybe there will also be 12 different kinds of flowers displaying 12 different colors (or more, plus many shades of each), 12 different shapes, and 12 distinct odors. Can you imagine how good that might look, taste, and smell?

I am sure it has happened to you too. You are out walking and an awesome smell comes drifting along.  You look around to see what it is and find a patch of flowers, a tree in full bloom, or fresh bread baking. Odors are amazing.

God is amazing too. In fact, He made odors, and He made our noses capable of detecting even slight differences.  He made colors, and our eyes capable of seeing them, and He made taste along with taste buds.  Why did He do all of this?

Have you ever thought of how many basic tastes there are, and then try and figure out how many combinations of those tastes there might be?  The most talented chefs use these combinations to create the incredible tastes we get in some of our foods.

One of the things I am planning to do in Heaven is to try and learn something about God from what He has created throughout the universe (including the things here on Earth) and then come back and share what I have learned with as many people as possible.  Some of those things will be tastes, smells, and sights from other locations around the universe.

I can imagine that I will have more than a few questions each time I return, and after asking Jesus about them I can see Him giving me a hint, patting me on the back and smiling at me, then sending me off for more.  I don't think I'll ever get tired of doing this, nor run out of things to see and do. Exploring can be so exciting!

What an AMAZING God!!!    Dream  B I G!

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
