Our WORDS and our ACTIONS flow like a river, either pure and refreshing or polluted and murky. With our words and our actions we are either blessing or killing others.
If our river is pure then it's because we are connected to the only pure Source, Jesus, and there is nothing in our past that is polluting it. But if our river is murky then it’s caused by something upstream (in our past), and if that’s the case then it’s from something deep within our hearts. Most of us have no idea why we are polluted. We have no idea what’s causing our unkind words, and our harsh actions. Even others who may be looking for the problem that's polluting our lives might not be able to find the source due to it being spread out over years. All we know is that we are hurting those near us, and we don’t like it any more than they do.
But Jesus knows what the problem is, big or small, and He knows exactly how to fix it. So we need to ask Him for help, and He will remove whatever it is.
Father in Heaven, we are ALL polluted! Someplace upstream there is something in our past that causes us to be harsh and unkind, but we have NO IDEA what it is or how to fix it. Please, remove every problem that is causing us to be an unhealthy river. Make us like the river of life, pure, sparkling, and full of life-giving words and actions.
We ask this in the Holy name of Jesus, amen.

People need to know that even though it looks like things are totally out of control, God is still with us. He has a plan, and He wants to save us all, but He has left it up to us to choose whether to submit to His awesome plans for us, or to try and do things our own way and save ourselves.
