Lost in the Grass

Have you ever noticed that sometimes our needs seem so small that we hesitate to pray? I recall that one day I had been hired to spread chemical on a lawn when a very small part fell off the riding mower and was lost in the grass. Because there would be no way to find the exact spot where I had stopped spreading this chemical if I moved the mower I really needed that little part to finish the job.
The problem was that this part was so small and it could be most anywhere in the tall grass. All that I had lost was a simple cotter key, but I felt that I needed it right then. I knew that my only hope was to ask the Lord to help me find this little piece of wire. So right then and there I asked our all-knowing God to show me where I could find it.
Not until after I had prayed did I realize that this tiny missing piece would have to be someplace behind my mower. I started looking and immediately found it. I felt funny asking our great God, who was at the time running the whole universe, for such a simple little thing, but the fact is that when I did ask for His help He pointed me directly to what I needed. This showed me that God even cares about the little things in our lives.
How can He care about you and me with so much going on all around Him? And why would our awesome God care about such a little thing as a cotter key?
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
