“... I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”
Have you ever had to leave home for an extended length of time and all the while wished that you could get back soon so that you could relax? You may have had to leave for work or maybe you even had an extended vacation that turned into more stress than relaxation. It could have been anything that took you away from the comfort and warmth, the love and security of where you live.
How did it feel when you finally returned to the place where you could relax and just sit? Do you remember being so tired that you just threw your keys on the table, kicked off your shoes and slumped down into your favorite chair?
After sitting there quietly catching your breath for a few minutes you realized that it was cold inside because you had turned the heat down before you left knowing that it would be awhile before you got back home. You also realized that you were hungry and desperately needed warm comfort food.
There’s just nothing like your own home, be it just a room, your own apartment, a whole house, or even your own city, you can relax and just do whatever you want to do. You can be YOU.
In the Bible we are told about a home that Jesus has gone to prepare for us.
“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
We are told that God’s plan for us is for our happiness, peace, joy, and health. We are told that nothing good will be missing, and that nothing bad will ever be there. In this new home you can relax, knowing that because God is in complete control you have nothing to worry about. You can be YOU.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Aren't you ready to go home? Jesus wants you to enjoy the love and friendship, the peace and joy, the warmth and comfort of your own home, with Him. Tell Him how you feel, and let Him forever remove the bad, leaving only the good.
“[God] will wipe every tear from [your] eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
