I have a very loving 2 year old granddaughter. She comes running, wanting to be held whenever I come home. (She loves to be held by "Bapa"!) Many times she just sits in my arms and is content, but there are times when she wants to get down. She tries to tell me if she wants down, but if I don’t get her down fast enough she will begin to squirm until I actually put her down.
Just a few hours ago she wanted to do something that was quite risky, but she wouldn’t listen to the concerns of those who love her. (She evidently felt that she was safe, but she wasn’t.) She fell, but good thing for her, she hit the couch on the way down. (Thank You Jesus for protecting her!)
In John 10 Jesus said, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.”
John 10:28-29 NLT
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
No one can take us out of God’s hands, but we are not trapped there. We are totally free to remove ourselves from His protection, if that’s what we want.
That’s REAL freedom!
