The focus is on Jesus!

Too Big to Miss

There was a valley filled with fear.

On one hill stood the army of Israel. On the other stood the Philistines. Between them walked a giant named Goliath—huge, armored, experienced, intimidating. Every day he shouted threats. Every day grown soldiers trembled.

No one moved.

Then one day, a teenage shepherd named David arrived—not as a soldier, but simply bringing food to his brothers.

He heard the giant mocking God and mocking God’s people.

While everyone else saw the size of Goliath, David saw the greatness of God.

Others said, “He is too big for us to fight.”

David essentially said, “He is too big to miss.”

King Saul tried to dress David in armor, but it didn’t fit. David refused to fight in someone else’s strength. He went with what God had already trained him to use: a sling, five smooth stones, and a heart that trusted the Lord.

As David ran toward the giant, Goliath laughed.

But faith often looks foolish right before victory.

David declared:

“You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord…” 1 Samuel 17:45 (NLT)

One stone flew.

The giant fell.

The battle changed.

What This Means for You

You may have your own Goliath right now.

A fear.
A diagnosis.
Debt.
A broken relationship.
An addiction.
A future that feels too heavy.
A prayer unanswered so long it feels impossible.

Remember this:

  • Your giant may be large, but God is larger.
  • What intimidates you does not intimidate Him.
  • You do not need worldly armor when you have God’s presence.
  • The battle is not won by size, but by trust.

Sometimes God allows giants so you can discover what He already placed inside you.

One More Encouragement

David had five stones, but only needed one.

You may feel underprepared. God may only need one moment, one answer, one door, one touch, one breakthrough.

Do not measure tomorrow by today’s fear.

If You Need Faith Right Now

Say this quietly:

“Jesus, I feel small in front of what I face. But You are not small. Help me trust You more than I fear the giant.”

And keep walking forward.

Because many giants fall while God’s people are still moving.
